Got (KDE) Shirts?

So, after searching for some cool KDE swag online and finding none (found some shirts and stickers of dubious quality at cafepress.com, but has anyone actually ordered anything from them and had good or bad experiences to share??), I found spreadshirt.com and tried their T-shirt designer thingey. After thoroughly enjoying watching their Flash-based designer crash Firefox about 10 times in a row (definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results), I admitted defeat and switched to my darling bride’s Powerbook and Safari. Long story short, I custom-made 2 shirts (black, of course, is there any other shirt color?) and am now waiting eagerly for them to arrive.

If anyone has any thoughts on better places to get KDE shirts and stickers, I’d LOVE to hear them (comment please!).

  • I got a couple of general Linux shirts from Cafepress. I got them in reasonable time and they were good quality shirt. Being younger, I’ve already outgrown them though.

  • Hey Jake! =:)

Do you remember which shop you got them from, exactly? I’ve read mixed reviews of cafepress.com, so I was hesitant to order from them. What I’d really like is some stickers and a couple of KDE shirts…

    Thanks!! =:)

  • @Jason: sorry, I really don’t. I guess it does have the potential to be hit and miss though. I know I didn’t get two things from one store though.

  • You couldn’t find anymore up to date jokes to reference. Like the KDE4 shirt joke is from 97 and the KPilot one is from 2001. Seriously like, you need to update your pop culture references. What’s next “KDE says RELAX”?

  • Hi, Jason,

Sorry about our designer crashing Firefox for you. Any way you can send us more information, like OS, version numbers, add ons of interest? Firefox is the main browser internally at Spreadshirt, so we know it works in general, but we want to fix any issues.

    Thanks!

  • Heh. Hi Jana!! =:) Absolutely! I’m using Firefox 2.0.0.5 on OpenSUSE 10.2, and am using the following plugins:

    Tab Mix Plus 0.3.6
    Google Browser Sync 1.3.20070523.0
    Firebug 1.05
    del.icio.us 1.2
    DOM Inspector 1.8.1.5

It looked like what was happening was when the graphic upload was done, Flash tried to do something to Firefox’s window that caused Firefox to crash. Maybe it tried to resize the parent window (tab) and either Tab Mix or Firefox didn’t like it?

Hope this helps!! And thanks for the feedback!! I’d love to help you guys track down what exactly is causing the problem. Please feel free to e-mail me for some more debugging… =:)

    Thanks!!!

  • I only bought one pre-customized KDE shirt, the other one was Debian related. Both shirts are fine, although I can’t find the label on either of them. My guess is they’re both 100% cotton.
I’ve washed them several times and the colors haven’t faded yet, nor has the KDE logo 🙂
